Gresham-Barlow School District selects principal for
West Gresham Elementary School

April 18, 2017

The Gresham-Barlow School District announced today that Lori Walter has been selected to be the next principal of West Gresham Elementary School.  Walter has 18 years of administrative experience. She currently serves as principal of Deep Creek-Damascus K-8 School.

“During her administrative career Ms. Walter has shown that she is an effective leader focused on building positive relationships with students, staff, and families,” said Superintendent Jim Schlachter. “She emphasizes collaboration to bring the school community together in its work to serve students.”

Walter helped lead the effort to combine Deep Creek Elementary School and Damascus Middle School into one. She also served on the school district’s K-8 Visioning Committee prior to the establishment of Deep Creek-Damascus K-8 School.

Walter will replace Carlynn Capps who will retire at the end of the school year. A process to hire the next principal of Deep Creek-Damascus K-8 School will begin soon.
