Determining Your Attendance Area - If you are not sure what school your child should attend based on your residence location, contact the district office at 503-261-4550 and the receptionist will help you.

Elementary Registration Information
Grades K-5 - Visit your attendance area school to register your student in our district. If you are a returning elementary student attending the same school as last year, you do not have to re-register.
A child must be 5 years of age by September 1 to enter kindergarten and 6 years of age by September 1 to enter first grade. Parents should go to their attendance area school to register and bring their child's birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residence, names and telephone numbers of emergency contacts. If you do not know which school attendance area you reside in, please call (503) 261-4550 to find out.
IF your child will not be 5 or 6 years old by September 1st, and you wish to pursue enrollment, please review the requirements in policy JEBA and JEBA-AR. The policy and AR (Administrative Rules) are very specific about the necessity for psychological testing to determine kindergarten or first grade readiness of a student younger than the required age. The tests are scheduled and paid for by the parent.

Middle School Registration Information - for New and Returning Students
Visit your attendance area school to register your 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student. New students need proof of residence address, names and telephone numbers of emergency contacts, and their best smile for the photo ID card. You will sign a release for the school to obtain your student's record from their previous school.
High School Registration Information
Students NEW to the District: telephone the high school to make an appointment with a counselor to register. Gresham HS is 503-674-5508 and Sam Barlow HS is 503-258-4870.
Students Returning to GHS or SBHS: You will receive a packet in the mail for mail-in registration. You do not need to call or visit the school.
