Gresham-Barlow School District

2012 Long Range Facility Plan

In 2012 the school district convened a Long Range Facility Planning Committee (LRFPAC) to assist and advise the district in preparing a long range facility plan. The committee's charge was to address the following objectives:
  • Comply with the requirements of ORS 195.110
  • Support and comply with city and county comprehensive plans
  • Compare student enrollment projections to estimated school capacity. This entailed developing enrollment projections and establish a formula for determining school capacity.
  • Review district standards or guidelines for facility and site characteristics for each school level or type.
  • Describe methods for the district to consider to increase the efficient use of school sites.
  • Identify and address the district's needs for future school capacity and land.
The work of this committee resulted in a long range facility plan which the school board adopted.

The plan includes recommendations in six areas:

1. 2012-2022 Student Enrollment Forecast
2. School Capacity Formula
3. School Site Characteristics
4. Efficient Use of School Sites
5. Alternatives to Construction
6. Future School Bond Opportunities
