Gresham-Barlow School District extends school year by five days to make up days for inclement weather closures
The Gresham-Barlow School Board has approved extending the school year by five days to make up for instructional days lost due to inclement weather closures. The days will be added to the end of the school year. For twelfth grade students, due to set graduation dates, the school year will be extended by three days.
The school district had originally planned to make the decision on adjusting the school calendar in April. However, the district determined it would be best to move its timeline up to allow students, families, and staff time to plan for the change.
Additional adjustments to the calendar may be needed in the future if additional emergency school closures occur. (Such as the emergency closure today, February 3, 2017.)
