A NOTE FROM YOUR SCHOOL COUNSELORS
Hello! We are Monika Soennichsen and Lindsey Romo, the school counselors at Hogan Cedars Elementary. Ms. Soennichsen is at HCES daily and Ms. Romo is at HCES on Thursdays & Fridays & alternate Wednesdays (we share Ms. Romo with Hall Elementary).
It is truly a pleasure to serve as your school counselors! The school counseling program at Hogan Cedars is designed to reach all of the student population and to help support the social, emotional, physical and academic needs of students.
As school counselors, we work with all students by leading classroom lessons. These lessons include topics such as understanding and expressing feelings, problem-solving, bullying prevention, and personal safety. Small groups are also offered throughout the year, focusing on a variety of topics.
We are also available to meet with students on an individual basis if a need arises.
For students who need to pursue more comprehensive counseling services, we can help connect families with these services. In addition, we can assist families in search of resources such as food, clothing, insurance or other basic needs.
If you have any questions about the school counseling program, please feel free to contact us! We look forward to working with your child this year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Soennichsen and Ms. Romo
