Mrs. Cook
Welcome to Powell Valley Elementary School! I am honored to continue serving the Powell Valley community as the principal because our school is filled with incredibly talented students who love learning. Our staff members consistently focus on helping our students grow into responsible, respectful community members who have the skills and desire to be lifelong learners and contributors. We are committed to providing highly effective instruction that leads to strong student learning and growth. We continue to innovate our instructional programs to include a STEAM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math), using Inquiry and Project-Based Learning that is supported through our Makerspace classroom. As the world changes, we are growing as professionals. We strive to develop powerful learning partnerships with students so that teachers can facilitate deep learning experiences that are supported by integrated technology, and result in accelerated learning for students.
I believe that we, as educators and parents, have the awesome responsibility of working together as a community and with integrity, to create an inclusive environment that ensures every student is prepared for success. One of the strengths of our school is the support we are provided by our community. Whether it’s parents volunteering regularly in the classroom or library, parents supporting field trips or PTC community-building events, or community members partnering with Cornerstone Church to prepare our grounds for school each year, the time and effort our community members put into our school helps us deliver the high-quality learning environment that our students deserve.
It is a privilege to be part of the Powell Valley community and have a hand in shaping the futures of our kids!
Go Panthers!
Sincerely,
Michele Cook
