On Monday, October 19, the Oregon Health Authority released expanded face covering guidance.

We have updated our COVID-19 Guidance for staff based on this. (See below-"Mask Wearing" section.)

If you have questions, please contact your supervisor.

ODE/GBSD Guidance on Staff COVID-19 Screening

    • Staff members are not responsible for screening other staff members for symptoms.
    • Staff members are expected to stay home if they exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.
    • Staff members are expected to go home if they exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases after their arrival at work.
    • Staff members are required to immediately report to Human Resources and the building principal or supervisor when they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
    • To assist with contract tracing when necessary, staff members are required to report to the building principal or supervisor when they have symptoms related to COVID-19. (phone or email are the preferred methods.)

    Contact Tracing

    • Unlike last year where staff signed in and out, staff members are expected to badge in and out every time they enter and leave the building. This is true if they leave and return during the day as well.
    • Each room, office, or space occupied by a staff member must have a sign in and sign out sheet.
    • Each room, office, or space occupied by a staff member must have a card that indicates whether the room needs cleaning or not so that custodians can easily identify areas that need to be cleaned.
    • Visitors that are allowed to enter the school via the use of the AiPhone sign in, should use the current paper and pencil method to document their entry and exit.  These records should be retained on-site.  It is important that each school know where to locate these records in case an event that requires tracing occurs.

    Mask Wearing

    • Masks or face coverings are required by all staff members in all indoor work spaces, but not required when at or in a location where the employee, contractor or volunteer does not have a job that requires interacting with the public or with other employees, such as a large warehouse and at least six (6) feet of distance can be maintained between other people. When six (6) feet of distance cannot be maintained, such as in a restroom or break room, masks or  face coverings or face shields are required.
    • Masks, face coverings or face shields are required at all times for employees, contractors and volunteers in public and private workplaces, including hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, elevators, lobbies, break rooms, meeting rooms and other common and shared spaces, unless employees, contractors or volunteers are at a private, individual workspace not shared with other people.
