“I learned how to make the best use of my time and study effectively by taking a number of advanced and AP classes and also participating in activities,” shared Richardson.

At Sam Barlow High School (SBHS), Deanna Richardson thrived in opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom, from AP classes to band, cheerleading, and dance team.

Richardson’s experience at SBHS prepared her for the rigors of college and law school.

After graduating, she earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology from Portland State University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University School of Law and was a member of the “Willamette Law Review.”

She worked in the Marion County District Attorney’s Office and in a general practice firm prior to joining her current firm, Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP. She has a broad-ranging background across several practice areas, in addition to her current practice, including family law and general litigation.

Additionally, she served as a Pro Tempore Judge in Washington County Circuit Court.

She currently works as an administrative law judge at the Oregon Office of Administrative Hearings. The court provides an independent and impartial forum for citizens and businesses to dispute state agency action against them.

In her free time, Deanna enjoys spending time with her family and participating in alpine skiing, golf, running, and biking
