Taylor Ramirez
“At Gresham High School I was seen, cared for, pushed to my highest academic potential. Because of that I thrived,” shares Taylor Ramirez.

During her time as a student in the Gresham-Barlow School District, Taylor Ramirez felt extraordinarily supported because, in her opinion, the school staff at her elementary, middle and high schools understood the complex student population.
This was especially true at Gresham High School. Due to the staff’s ability to recognize and meet unique student needs, opportunities like “biweekly tutorials” provided her the chance to get help when she needed it without questioning or shaming.
Ramirez says she felt safe to truly push her academic potential to its limits and to not be afraid to ask questions, try a few times and sometimes fail, always knowing there was support to pick herself back up again.
Through unspoken lessons from her coaches, teachers, and advisors she learned important social skills that have helped in the long-term.
She’s made lifelong connections and now has a large network of supporters who have given her advice and opportunities over the years. She is excited to pay it forward as she continues her work with students.
She earned her bachelor’s of science in integrative health and wellness from the University of Portland in 2023 with a minor in Spanish.
Currently, she is pursuing a dual-graduate degree–––a master’s of science in nutrition and a doctor of naturopathic medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland.
Ramirez is also the head cross country coach at Gresham High School and the head distance coach at GHS for Track & Field.
She’s still a competing trail and road runner and loves to surf and snowboard, yet is currently on hiatus for injury. Additionally, she owns an apparel brand named “COSER” where she sells handmade outerwear, headwear, clothing, and jewelry.
