Sam Barlow High School Boys Soccer
The school board honored Sam Barlow High School Boys Soccer player Matty Callison for scoring 22 goals this season and being named Mount Hood Conference Offensive Player of the Year by the Mount Hood Conference coaches. Matty was also named 1st Team All-State.
Sam Barlow High School Volleyball
The school board recognized Sam Barlow High School volleyball coach Lihau Perreira as the Mount Hood Conference Volleyball Co-Coach of the Year. Her team tied for second in the conference and advanced to the second round of the playoffs. Senior Addi Knight was recognized by the Mount Hood Conference coaches as the Mt Hood Conference Player of the Year. Addi also received statewide recognition as a 1st Team All-State Volleyball Player.
Sam Barlow High School Boys Water Polo
The school board honored the Sam Barlow High School Boys' Water Polo Team. The team placed first in the Mt. Hood Conference and then brought home the 3rd-place State trophy. Senior Levi Riegelmann was named Mt. Hood League Boys Water Polo Player of the Year and was also named 1st Team All-State.
Superintendent and District Leadership Team Update
Superintendent Hiu, who is retiring at the end of December, expressed his appreciation for the individuals who have positively impacted his educational career. He thanked the school board, district staff, and the district leadership team for their support and steadfast commitment to students, staff, and the community. He also expressed his appreciation to his wife for her unwavering love, encouragement, and support. He thanked past Superintendent Ken Noah for providing the opportunity to work in the Gresham-Barlow School District 22 years ago. He shared that the students of the GBSD have always been his north star and his “why.” He encouraged the district’s students to continue to lift their voices and advocate for a better tomorrow. He concluded his remarks by quoting Theodore Roosevelt’s famous piece, “Man in the Arena” which he dedicated to colleagues who have chosen to commit their lives to public education.

Former GBSD staff member Bill Martin shared information about his termination and expressed concern about how 2016 school bond funds were used.
APPROVED, electing Katrina Doughty to the OSBA Board of Directors, Position 17.
APPROVED, electing Jose Gamero-Georgeson to the OSBA Board of Directors, Position 19.
APPROVED, adopting Resolution 1 which amends the OSBA dues schedule.
FAILED, adopting Resolution 2 which creates the Oregon School Board Members PRIDE Caucus and designate a seat on the OSBA Board of Directors and Legislative Policy Committee
FAILED, adopting Resolution 3 which adopts the proposed amendments to the OSBA Bylaws
APPROVED, ratifying the resolution setting the Gresham Enterprise Zone School Support Fee as presented
APPROVED, accepting Vice-Chair Cathy Keathley's letter of resignation from Position 3, Zone 2, of the Gresham-Barlow School District Board of Directors, effective December 31, 2024, and declaring the position vacant

Executive Director of Technology Services Jeff Gibbs provided an update on the district's Educational Technology Plan. The update included information on computer replacements, cyber security, and Year 2 of the technology plan.
