Superintendent and District Leadership Team Update
Superintendent Hiu shared that the first week of school has been filled with energy and excitement as students return to class. The superintendent has been visiting schools throughout the week. Director of K-12 Schools Dr. Sara Deboy provided an update on capital construction projects within the District.
Citizens’ Requests of the Board
Community member Tom Eubanks shared his concerns regarding the sale of school district properties on Salquist Road and Chase Road.
Bill Martin shared his concerns regarding the termination of a Sam Barlow High School teacher and dysfunction within the Gresham-Barlow School District.
Several other community members submitted comments in writing.
APPROVED, declaring that the board has no candidates to nominate for Positions 17 and 19 on the Oregon School Boards Association’s Board of Directors
APPROVED, declaring the District property located at 5039 SE Chase Road as surplus and be disposed in a manner that is in the best interest of the District
APPROVED, accepting the donation of a wrestling mat valued in the amount of $20,235 ($18,559.20 fo the mat and $1,675.80 for shipping) for use at Gresham High School
