Gresham-Barlow School Board selects Koch to serve as interim superintendent

Education veteran brings 30 years of diverse experience to the position

Gresham-Barlow School Board Statement:

The Gresham-Barlow School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of John Koch as interim superintendent beginning January 1, 2025 and continuing through June 30, 2025.

Mr. Koch is an experienced educator with over 30 years of diverse experience within K-12 education as a teacher, special education instructor, middle and high school principal, and administrator. He is currently serving as Chief of Operations for Gresham-Barlow School District. As interim superintendent, Mr. Koch will oversee the daily operations of the district, collaborate with staff and the community, and ensure a smooth continuation of programs and services while assisting in the transition of leadership to the permanent superintendent.

The Board considered an exceptional pool of highly qualified and respected leaders to lead the district forward as it transitions to the next permanent superintendent. As we prioritized the safety of our schools, the continuation and advancement of the district’s successes in the classroom, and operational stability for our dedicated staff, Mr. Koch emerged as the right leader for this pivotal time.

We are pleased to have a capable and willing leader to serve our students, staff and community during this important time of transition.
