What's Going Well? Hollydale Elementary teacher shines
Initiative recognizes extraordinary work of GBSD staff
The Gresham-Barlow School District recently highlighted the work of Hollydale Elementary School (HDES) music teacher Mzuri Robertson, presenting her with the "What's Going Well" honor.
Robertson, who joined Hollydale staff last fall, thoughtfully and skillfully creates enriching learning experiences for students through music. Additionally, she brings a passion for celebrating diversity and cultural heritage.
Earlier this year, she organized an unforgettable African American cultural night at the school. Students and families gathered in droves for student presentations, live music, delicious food, and authentic African-style drumming. The event will now be an annual tradition for Hollydale.
Hollydale principal Jessica Ramirez is especially excited about Ms. Robertson's positive impact and her special dedication to her students.
"She continues to bring joy and inspiration into her music room each day," said Mrs. Ramirez, "Her students genuinely look forward to their time in music class."
