Supporting All Students

We believe ALL students deserve to academically excel in an environment that honors and respects their diversity.  

Our district equity policy, adopted on June 9, 2016, states that: 

The Gresham-Barlow School District is committed to ensuring the right of each student to have equitable opportunities to achieve their dreams and academic goals by minimizing barriers and limitations. Student success will not be predicted nor predetermined by national origin, race, culture, ethnicity, sex, language, socio-economic status, mobility, sexual orientation, disability, and/or religion.

In addition, the school board has adopted an equal educational opportunity policy.

In May of 2018, the Gresham Barlow School District Board published a statement reaffirming the district commitment to preparing EVERY student for success.

GBSD Inclusion Audit Report and Plan

In 2022 the Gresham-Barlow School District conducted an Inclusion Audit to collect data district-wide and develop an Inclusion Plan for removing systemic barriers and increasing access and opportunity for all students, with a focus on those most marginalized.

This audit was developed by the Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion in collaboration with high school students from across the District. This report represents a summation of both the quantitative and qualitative data collected during the audit and the district-wide first year Inclusion Plan.
