Welcome to the Student Support Services section of the Gresham-Barlow School District website.
Disability is a natural part of the human experience and in no way diminishes the right of individuals to participate in or contribute to society. Improving educational results for children with disabilities is an essential element of our national policy of ensuring equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities. - Opening to the IDEA
EQUITY, ACCESS, and OUTCOMES: The Student Support Services mission is to improve equity, access, and outcomes for all students by providing a continuum of exemplary services designed to meet student's individual needs. We will accomplish this goal by building supportive relationships with students and families, and maintaining strong staff teams at both the school and district levels.

September 2022
Dear families,
I would like to welcome you and your children back to school this fall. Myself and the leadership team here at Student Support Services are excited to think about the new opportunities this year will bring. We have spent this week with new teachers in various trainings, and will get a chance to welcome back veteran teachers next week. The energy and excitement we have felt in planning for your student/s has been reinvigorating. It looks like we will be starting the year in a more typical fashion, which feels like we’re getting back to a more normal start of the year.
We had a successful summer program and want to thank you for supporting your children and our teachers in making it great. We also want to give a special shout out to the teachers and all the staff who put in all the extra time and planning needed. We will be offering one more year of recovery services this year. Your child’s case manager will partner with you at your annual IEP meeting regarding these services. The IEP teams will be making data-based decisions regarding qualification for recovery services.
Every child is important to me and the rest of the team at Gresham Barlow. Our desire is to partner with you to help meet the needs of your child. We encourage and welcome you to reach out to us at any time if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you and be well,
Donna Ravenberg
Director of Special Education
