Available to parents and guardians of high school students in 9th through 12th grades. Not available for elementary or middle school classes.
Canvas for Parents and Guardians
The Canvas Parent Observer role offers limited course permissions that allow you to see what is going on without interrupting or participating in the course. ParentVUE continues to be the primary source of student grades and teacher communication; however, you can use Canvas to view more detailed assignment information and feedback.
Parent Observer accounts are created based on ParentVUE information. Please wait 24 hours after creating a ParentVUE account to access your Observer account and set your initial account password.
Creating a Parent Observer Account Password
ParentVUE account information has been imported into Canvas as Parent Observer accounts; however, parents must create their own password. The school and the district do not have access to Observer passwords.
To set the initial password for your Observer account, click on the Forgot Password? link on the login screen. You will be prompted to enter your email address. Enter the email address associated with your ParentVUE account. Canvas will send a reset password link to the email address you entered. This process will allow you to establish the password for your Observer account.
After password creation, log into Canvas!
