School Breakfast and Lunch will continue to be provided this school year at no cost. All students may have free breakfast from 8:15-8:30am / 9:15-9:30am on late start Wednesdays. If your child will eat breakfast at Hollydale, please be sure they arrive prior to 8:20 to ensure that they have time to eat. (NOTE: Hollydale Elementary qualifies for free breakfast and lunch for all students under the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). If you only have children attending CEP schools you should not apply for Free and Reduced Meals (FARMS). All students at CEP schools automatically get all meals for free. These schools are East Gresham Elementary, Hall Elementary, Highland Elementary, Hogan Cedars Elementary, Hollydale Elementary, Kelly Creek Elementary, North Gresham Elementary, Powell Valley Elementary, Clear Creek Middle, Dexter McCarty Middle, Gordon Russell Middle, and Gresham High.) If you have at least one child at a school that is not CEP, please submit an application for FARMS. See the district webpage for more information.)

Classroom Supplies will again be provided by the school district. Parents will not need to purchase school supplies or pay a school supply fee this year. Families will need to provide their students with a backpack, water bottle, and lunchbox if bringing lunch from home. Please be sure to select a backpack that is large enough to fit a binder and remember to write student names on all personal belongings, especially coats.
- Medications at School. If your student will need to take medication during the school day, please drop it off in the office and fill out the required paperwork. Please remember non-expired medication must be in the original packaging with a prescription label. Students cannot keep medication on them during the school day. All medications, prescription or non-prescription must be checked into the office by a parent/guardian.

Immunization Rates
Immunization Exemption Information
The State of Oregon requires schools to notify parents of their immunization rates for each required vaccine. These rates will be posted on our school’s website, in our school office, and sent home to parents. The rates attached are the exemption rates as of the February exclusion date - which is always the third Wednesday of that month. Schools are required to publish this information twice each school year. These rates will be posted within thirty days of the February exclusion date. The same information will be shared again during the first month of school next school year. Again, these rates are collected and tallied each February.

Dear Hollydale Heroes:
This spring and summer have brought unique and life-altering challenges as we have continued to learn and adjust to the impacts of COVID-19, both personally and professionally. As the new principal of Hollydale Elementary School, I feel fortunate and grateful to be joining the new Hollydale community which is committed to providing all students with the best education possible. I assure you that I approach this year with optimism, energy, and a commitment to apply what was learned last spring to work together and continue to increase our support for our school community and most importantly, for our students.
The Gresham-Barlow School District website contains helpful information regarding back to school and this information is updated as new mandates and requirements become known. This will be your most current and easily accessible source of information. Students will virtually return to school on September 14 and will participate in comprehensive distance learning through mid-October. At that point, using the re-opening metrics and guidelines provided by the State of Oregon, the district will re-evaluate the situation and provide additional information to families. You can expect to receive a weekly school newsletter which will also highlight this information.
While this is certainly an unconventional way to begin a school year, there is an opportunity to mold some of our current systems into systems that better support our students, families, and community. I believe that working with families to build these systems is essential. Your voice will be especially important this year as we work together to think creatively and find new ways to engage, inspire, and empower each student in our community. The Hollydale parent group and Site Council are additional opportunities for your voice to be heard. If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please contact me at ramirez26@gresham.k12.or.us.
If you have any questions or would like to connect with me, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or, once the school office is open, through the office. It is an honor to be a member of the Hollydale community and I look forward to working with each of your children.
Sincerely,
Jessica Ramirez

Hollydale Elementary School
