Powell Valley Makes: From Home is our homegrown answer to Project-Based Learning during distance learning. Every year we do a MakerFaire, and we did not want to miss it this year just because we cannot be together in one space. This video will explain what students will be expected to do to participate in this online making experience. Powell Valley Makes: From Home will take place online May 28."
Even though our Connect to Kinder Event is currently postponed, we are encouraging families to register their 20/21 Kindergartners at this time. This year GBSD has moved to an online registration format for all new student enrollments. You will need to create a ParentVue account before registering. If possible please upload your child's birth certificate, vaccination record and proof of residency during the registration process. Submitted online registrations will be reviewed and will be complete once we have received the necessary documents. Currently, our office is not open for parents to drop off paperwork, but other options for submission are by mail or fax. The link below will get you to our online registration page with information and instructions. We will be in contact with families who have registered once we have information on our kindergarten event.

Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Powell Valley Elementary School!
It is my honor to be the Interim Powell Valley Elementary School Principal. I will be serving in this role from January through June 2020. The search for a Powell Valley permanent principal is continuing with the hope to find the perfect candidate that can start in July 2020.
During the short time I have spent transitioning into this position, it has become clear to me that Powell Valley has amazing students, caring and dedicated faculty and an active and supportive community. I have already witnessed high quality instruction, engaged and actively learning students and hard working adults. I have observed clear implementation of the Powell Valley STEAM Initiative, Project Based Learning and inclusive practices.
For the last four months I have served as the Gresham Barlow School District Interim Executive Director of Student Support Services. I bring extensive administrative experience to this position at Powell Valley, having served as a superintendent, principal at all levels, and held various district office level positions. These experiences and my unwavering philosophy that all students can be successful will provide a strong foundation for Powell Valley Elementary.
As the new decade begins, I look forward to becoming better acquainted with all our students, families and staff!
