Business Management Program Overview
Gresham High School offers Introduction to Business, Accounting 1-2, Accounting 3-4, Entrepreneurship 1-2, Marketing 1-2, and Marketing 3-4 classes that challenge students with hands-on project based learning. Each course is built around curriculum standards, hands-on learning, and opportunities to collaborate with local businesses. DECA is also integrated into the Entrepreneurship and Marketing programs which enrich teaching and learning and promotes business connections and competition.
Danna Nelson worked in private industry until 2000 when she left to accept a bookkeeping position with Gresham High School. While working at Gresham, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. Danna attended Eastern Oregon University and majored in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, then attended Western Oregon University and received her Master's Degree in 2012. Danna began her teaching career at Gladstone High School, then accepted a position at Centennial High School where she helped build a Business/Marketing/Enttrepreneurship program. Danna returned to Gresham High School in 2015 and has developed a strong Business program. She is the advisor for DECA and her students operate the Gopher Hole. Danna loves being a part of the Gresham High School community. "Once a gopher, always a gopher!"
