Gresham High School Student - Awarded The Zeno B. Katterle Award
The Zeno B. Katterle award is given annually to 1 qualifying Senior student per high school. This award is given in collaboration from Sodexo food services and AGSA, the Association of Gresham School Administrators.
Jennifer "Jenni" Ruiz-Medina is a wonderful young woman and one of the kindest and most thoughtful students at Gresham High School. Since her freshman year, Jenni looked for opportunities to serve others and to improve other people’s lives. She was able to accomplish this through her work with the National Honor Society, the Key Club, and MEChA as well as in student council and the Renaissance Leadership class.
Jenni's efforts also expanded beyond the walls of GHS and she served as an ambassador on the Youth Advisory Council for the City of Gresham. In this role, Jenni advocated for young people with the Mayor, members of council and other elected representatives and participated in service projects that improved the lives of Gresham residents.
Jenni's positive attitude and drive also showed on the softball field and she received the GHS Varsity Softball Coach's Award.
We have no doubt Jenni will excel at University of Oregon, and we wish her the very best on her path to a successful career.
