Gresham-Barlow School District announces new principals for 2021-22 school year

Kim Barker to lead Deep Creek-Damascus K-8

The Gresham-Barlow School District (GBSD) has announced that Gordon Russell Middle School (GRMS) Assistant Principal Kim Barker will become the next principal of Deep Creek-Damascus K-8. Barker has served as assistant principal at GRMS since 2012. Prior to joining the administrative ranks, Barker taught a variety of subjects and grade levels in Damascus, and knows the community well. She has taught science and health at the middle school level, 5th grade reading, and served as a student management specialist. Barker replaces Barb Keeton who will leave GBSD at the end of the school year to join the Lake Oswego School District.
 
 
Heidi Blakley to lead Hogan Cedars Elementary School

Heidi Blakley will serve as the next principal of Hogan Cedars Elementary School. A newcomer to GBSD, Blakley currently serves as principal of Hudson Park Elementary in the Rainier School District. Prior to that, she worked as a principal in the Klamath County School District. Heidi also previously worked in the Salem-Keizer School District as an assistant principal and as an instructional coach. Blakley replaces Elaine Luckenbaugh who is retiring at the end of the school year.
