GBSD 2022 Summer Meals Program

Free meals for students 18 and under!

 

Dates: 

June 27, 2022 – August 12, 2022

7/1 – No Meal Service at Springwater Trail High School

7/4 – No Meal Service at all sites - Holiday

 

Locations:

 

•   Springwater Trail High School, 1440 SE Fleming Avenue, Gresham, OR

Monday-Thursday, Breakfast:  8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., Lunch:  11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

•   Gresham Arts Plaza (Splash Pad), 401 NE 2nd Street, Gresham, OR

Monday-Friday, Lunch only: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

•   Gresham Main City Park, 219 S. Main Avenue, Gresham, OR

Monday-Friday, Lunch only: 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.

•   Red Sunset Park, 2403 NE Red Sunset Drive, Gresham, OR

Monday-Friday, Lunch only: 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.

•   Nadaka Park, 17615 NE Glisan Street, Portland, OR

Monday-Friday, Lunch only: 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.

 

Students Enrolled in Summer School/On-site Programs:

Breakfast and Lunch will be served at no charge.

Changes to this summer’s program:

• Parent(s)/ Guardians will no longer be able to pick up meals on behalf of 

     their children

• Students/participants must be present to receive a meal and remain onsite when    

     consuming their  meal (food items may not be allowed offsite)

• Multiple meals will not be served at one meal service.  Meals will be served daily.

While the impact of this change may affect each participant and their families differently, we remain committed to serving healthy meals in a safe and friendly environment. 

                            

Why the Changes?

Throughout the pandemic, The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the government agency that administers our summer meal program, waived many of the program requirements, offering flexibilities to meal service operations in an effort to serve participants safely and minimize exposure to COVID-19.  Several of the current waivers offering flexibilities are set to expire in the near future. Due to the expiration of these waivers, participants can expect to experience some changes from last summer’s meal service.
