School Starts September 14th

Our 2020-21 school year begins September 14th for our K-5 students. Due to the pandemic and Oregon Department of Health guidelines, we will begin our school year with Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL). This format will allow our students to connect live with their teacher each day and connect with their classmates. We look forward to creating our classroom communities and getting to know each other.

Technology Distribution

As we begin Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL), we will distribute devices in early September. The devices must be returned by June 10, 2021 or upon leaving the district, whichever comes first. Student ID numbers required to pick up devices (s). You will need the student ID number for each student in your family in order to check out a device. The student ID number is also your student's lunch number and is listed on report cards. If you do not have the number, please log into ParentVUE to obtain it.

You can check out devices at four locations. For your convenience, each location will be open from 10 am to 5 pm each day.

If your oldest student is in high school pickup devices (s) on either Tuesday, September 1 or Wednesday, September 2.

If your oldest student is in middle school pickup devices (s) on either Wednesday, September 2 or Thursday, September 3.

If your oldest student is in elementary school pick up device (s) on either Tuesday, September 8 or Wednesday, September 9.

Dexter McCarty Middle School and Clear Creek Middle School Student ONLY:

Your devices will be distributed at your own school on September 10, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and September 11, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Your siblings who attend a different school will have to check out their device at another school. See the Pickup dates and times above for students who do NOT attend Dexter McCarthy Middle or Clear Creek Middle School.

Students new to the district need to be enrolled by August 26 in order to check out a device during the district-wide device distribution schedule. Any students enrolled after August 26 will need to make arrangements through their school to check out a device at a later date.

We encourage families to come throughout the day to help us maintain safe social distancing during check out. Our process will allow you to check out devices without leaving your car. We ask that you remain in your car. If you do not have a vehicle and need to walk to the site, we will provide a walk-up option that will require families to maintain safe social distancing while waiting.

The Gresham-Barlow School District is committed to providing devices for ALL students in our district. We are encouraging families to take advantage of the devices as they are familiar to teachers, they are loaded with the applications needed and our technology staff know how to problem solve issues with these devices if they come up during the school year.
