8th Grade Celebration & Materials Collection

The last day for 8th graders is rapidly approaching, and with it a time to celebrate and get ready for the transition to high school.

On the afternoon of June 14th from 4 PM - 6 PM we will be hosting a reverse parade at West Orient for families to drive through and celebrate students’ accomplishments and achievements. All students and families are invited to attend this drive through celebration of students’ middle school experience and promotion to high school.

Students will receive a certificate in recognition of their completion of 8th grade. As a special feature of the event, all 8th grade students will also receive a special transition gift bag to help them on their way to high school. Students won’t want to miss this!

At the end of the parade route, there will be collection stations for student door badges, library materials and technology - including Chromebooks, chargers, and hotspots. Students should plan to bring these items with them so they can be turned in all at the same event.

If a student or family is not able to attend this event, students can return materials and pick up their certificate and gift bag by contacting the office and making separate arrangements.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at this special event!
